Musicbox – Farewell – and hello
A MAJOR four-band gig, including a farewell performance by the popular Exodus, is to take place at Polesworth School on November 12.

Other bands on the bill are Spirit of Water, Cosmic Emotion and Corrupt Youth.

Brothers Geoff and Dylan Haddon, of Exodus will be making two appearances at the gig, for they have each joined different bands.

Geoff has teamed up with his other brother Steve in Spirit of Water, while Dylan has formed Cosmic Emotion.

Spirit of Water also includes Terry Smith and Paul Lewis.

Cosmic Emotion, apart from Dylan, consists of Brad Riley, Tony Bradford and Tracey Wykes, while Corrupt Youth’s line-up is Cooky, Aky, Clogger and Shazz.

Steve Wallbank, Chris Price and Richard Banks will be joining Geoff and Dylan for Exodus’ final performance.

Looks like a great gig in store. Make sure you get there.

Musicbox – Tracey in the front line
Tracey Wykes is the bubbling vocalist/front-girl for the new North Warwickshire band with that distinctive name.LOCAL bands with dynamic girl singers are not exactly commonplace, so it’s particularly nice to welcome the advent of Cosmic Emotion.

Tracey Wykes is the bubbling vocalist/front-girl for the new North Warwickshire band with that distinctive name.

But the rest of the band’s line-up also features some well-known local names.

First, there’s Dylan Haddon, now one of the most seasoned campaigners on the local scene after spells with Trojan and Exodus. Dylan is handling lead guitar duties.

Tony Bradford, formerly of Vulcan, is on the drummer’s stool, while former Spirit of Water man Brad Riley is on bass and occasional synthesiser.

A date

And the music? Dylan said: “It’s early days to say but so far we’re very pleased with the way things are turning out.

“The sound is definitely not HM, but it does stray towards Hawkind at times, but is also quite punky,” added Dylan.

So far, the band’s biggest composition is a 20-minute opus in three parts called “Cosmic Music”.

The band have a date lined up at Atherstone Miners’ Welfare Club.
